The method for setting up GA4 measurement via GTM is explained in this manual.
If the measurement settings have not been configured, please refer to the setup guide from the link below.

Setup Procedure

Set GTM Tag in the tripla Management Screen

To enable funnel analysis of the reservation flow in tripla Book, you need to configure GTM to trigger the standard events provided by tripla.

Obtain the GTM Setup Code

Open Google Tag Manager (GTM).
Click "Install Google Tag Manager" from the GTM dashboard.

The implementation instructions will open. Click the button to copy the GTM setup code for the <head> tag to your clipboard.

Next, open the **tripla management screen** in a separate tab.
Go to the **Facility Management Screen** and navigate to **[Administrator Settings] → [tripla Settings]**.

Paste the GTM setup code that you copied earlier into the <head> tag field.

Return to the GTM screen and this time, copy the GTM code for the <body> tag to your clipboard.

Return to the tripla management screen, paste the GTM setup code into the <body> tag field, and click the "Save" button.

Now, when tripla Book is launched, the configured GTM container will be triggered.

Next, click on Data Layer Settings.

Click [Save].

Warning

Even if there are no changes, the data will not be saved, and events will not be triggered unless you click [Save].
Please make sure to click [Save].

At this stage, the events required for funnel analysis are not yet triggered.
Next, we will proceed with the necessary settings to enable these events.

Set Up Events in GTM

From the **GTM management screen**, click **"Import Container"**.

This file is the standard event configuration file provided by tripla.

Please download it to your local PC before proceeding.

When the [Import Container] screen opens, click [Select Container File] and choose the GTM_triplaEvent.json file that you previously saved on your local PC.

For the workspace, select "New".

To make it clear, enter "triplaEvent" as the workspace name and click the Save button.

Click the Confirm button.

You will be returned to the top screen. Confirm that the current workspace is set to "triplaEvent".

When you click on the "Tags" menu, you will see the imported tags displayed.

Changing the GA Configuration Tag

The imported tag contains the measurement tag for the tripla demo site, so it needs to be changed.
Select GA_Setting_Tag.
Click on the tag settings to open the detailed view.

Set the GA4 Measurement ID that you want to track and click Save.

For instructions on how to create a GA4 Measurement ID, please refer to the link below.

Click the "Publish" button at the top right of the screen to open the "Submit Changes" screen.
Once you're on this screen, click the
"Publish" button to trigger the triplaEvent.

A confirmation screen will appear once the process is completed.

After completing the above settings, events will start firing.
Next, to verify that the configured events are firing, check the screen as follows:

Click on "Workspace".

Once the Workspace screen is open, click the "Preview" button.

Enter the site URL and click the "Connect" button.

The homepage will load, so return to the original screen and click the "Continue" button.

Multiple containers will be displayed. Select the GA Measurement ID set up in GTM.
Please note that the
GTM code will vary by facility. Choose the one that starts with [G].

Return to the opened homepage and open the search page.

tripla Book will open.
At this point, return to the
GTM Tag Assistant page.
You will see that
triplaEvent is displayed. Click on it to proceed.

On the search results page, the parameters for triplaEvent will be displayed in a list.
You will see various parameters being retrieved. As you scroll down, you will notice that the
page_category, which is required for funnel analysis of the reservation flow, is displayed.

With the GTM setup complete and triplaEvent confirmed to be firing, the next step is to configure the event in the GA4 console to enable funnel analysis.

If the Search Result is not displayed, it may be due to the Data Layer settings not being saved as mentioned earlier. Please ensure that the Data Layer settings are correctly saved to resolve this issue.

First, go to "Admin" > "Custom Definitions" and create a Custom Dimension.

In the Custom Dimension edit screen, enter and select the following, then click Save:

Data Layer Functionality

1. What is the Data Layer?

The Data Layer is a feature that allows you to add custom information to Google Tag Manager (GTM) and send that data to Google Analytics (GA), enabling the tracking of information that was previously unavailable for measurement.
Notes
Examples:
・Which plans were displayed on the search results page?
・How did the user arrive at the hotel site (e.g., referral source)?
・Did the user make a reservation through the room search or the plan search?

2.Use Cases

By managing information that was previously unmeasured, you can make new discoveries, improve features, and create more attractive plans.
Notes
Examples:
・What are the common characteristics of plans that are frequently booked?
・What is the most popular price range at a specific hotel?
・What promotion leads to the most bookings?
・How many days before the stay do most booking cancellations occur?
・Where do users most often drop off in the booking process?

3.Analysis Sample

By utilizing the gathered information, you can perform more detailed analysis, such as identifying common points of drop-off in funnel reports and various pages.
Info
Example: If the drop-off rate from search results is significantly higher compared to other hotels in the same industry, suggestions such as revising the plans or improving photos can be made.

Target Audience

This feature is intended for hotel marketing managers and developers.
To fully utilize it, a basic understanding of web development and web marketing is required as prerequisite knowledge.
If you are already using GTM and GA, this feature can be useful for analyzing user behavior within the hotel booking process.

How to Set Up (tripla Management Screen)

To use the Data Layer functionality, you need to add the GTM or other tags within the <head> and <body> tags.
A button will appear after doing so. By default, it is hidden.

1.Click Facility Management Screen → Administrator Settings → tripla Settings.
2.Enter the customized tags in the <head> and <body> tags.
3.Click the "Data Layer Settings" button that appears.

4.Data Layer Detailed Settings
4-1 Select the corresponding page of the booking widget from the following options: "Search Results," "Customer Information Registration," "Payment Information Registration," "Booking Confirmation," "Booking Update," "Booking Cancellation," where you want to send the data layer.
4-2 Enter the key name, choose either static or dynamic, and then enter/select the value (or delete it).

4-3 After saving the settings in the tripla management screen, you can immediately confirm that the data layer is being sent on the corresponding company website.
You can check the data that can currently be collected here.

Appendix

GA4 Setup

To enable data tracking in GA, you will need to add a data stream. If it has already been set up, you can skip this step.
From the settings screen, select "Data Streams".

Select "Web" from "Add Stream".

Enter the site URL and **stream name** that you want to track.

A web stream will be created, and the Measurement ID will be displayed.
