In tripla Connect, guest stay history, membership data, and website browsing behavior are grouped to automate personalized communications and support repeat customer engagement.
This grouping is referred to as a “segment.”
While this manual provides an overview of the general setup process, commonly used segments are introduced [here]. Please refer to them as well.

How to Set Up a Segment

Click “+ Add” on the segment list page to open the segment editing screen.

Difference Between Custom User Segment and Brand User Segment
A Custom User Segment is created by setting conditions directly on the screen.
A Brand User Segment allows you to upload a list of email addresses for sending promotional emails.


Adding a Custom User Segment

You can add a segment by setting your own conditions.
By default, one condition labeled “a” is displayed, but you can add multiple conditions by clicking “Add Category.”
To set conditions, click “Create Custom User Segment.”

Creating a Custom User Segment
This is the title of the segment. It is used only within the admin panel and will not be visible to customers.
Note: A title is required.

Conditions
Use this section to set conditions.
You can create up to 70 data categories.
Note: Categories can be connected using either AND or OR operators. This means conditions are combined with “and,” not “or.”

Click the trash icon to delete a condition.

Add Category
Clicking this will add a new condition field.
You can also view commonly used segments [here].

Update Button and User ListAfter setting the conditions, click [Update] at the top right of the screen to retrieve the results.
The following data will be displayed:

Number of users (who match the selected categories)

Most recent checkout date

Total number of room nights reserved

Total reservation amount

Note: For non-member (anonymous) users, data is based primarily on cookie information, so personal details are not displayed.
If the user is a member, you can click the ID to view detailed information.

Set the conditions and click [Save].
After clicking [Save], only the "Create Custom User Segment" tab will be displayed, along with the number of users and other retrieved data.


Creating a Brand User Segment

By creating a Brand User Segment, you can upload a list of email addresses to which you want to send promotional emails.
Click [+ Add] to open the creation screen, then select the [Create Brand User Segment] tab.

Enter a title and click the [Download] button to download the CSV template.

In the downloaded template, fill in the [email] and [uid] fields.

Notes

Both [email] and [uid] are required fields.

[uid] is an ID used by your facility to identify the email address and is not related to tripla’s user ID.uid]

After uploading the CSV template and clicking [Save], the data will be imported, the segment will be created, and only the [Create Brand User Segment] tab will be displayed.


You can send emails to the created segment using Promotion Mail V2.

Alert
The conditions under which promotion emails can be sent are as follows:
Members who have agreed to receive promotional emails
Non-members
Promotion emails cannot be sent to members who have not agreed to receive promotional emails.



Updating a Brand User Segment

The process for updating a Brand User Segment is as follows:

Click [Download Previous Upload Results] to check the latest upload.

Review for any errors and add or remove email addresses as needed.

Upload the updated CSV template again to overwrite the segment with the new list.

Brand User Segments are independent from tripla's Custom User Segments, so you cannot add conditions as you would with custom segments.

Each time you upload a CSV file, the existing email addresses in the segment will be overwritten.

After uploading, you can download the upload result to check for any errors in the CSV.


CSV Download

Warning
As of January 2025, this feature is not available.

When you click [CSV Download], a download result email will be sent to the email address used to log in to the admin panel.

Clicking the link in the received email will open the Customer Segment V2 screen in a new window, and the user data will be downloaded as an Excel file.

The CSV file will include the following fields: [email], [membership_id], and [tripla_internal_id].

Users without an email address will be excluded, so the number of exported users may be lower than the total user count. As a result, there may be a discrepancy between the total number of users and the number of entries in the CSV file.
